Toddler Assistant and Casual Supply List

Allen-Detweiler Nursery School (ADNS) is a non-profit, play-based co-operative that has been in operation in Kingston for over 50 years.  The school offers both Toddler and Preschool programs and is located in Rideaucrest Home at 175 Rideau Street.  The school’s programs emphasize the learning of social skills (including assertiveness and respect for others), building up a child’s self concept, and active learning through play and organized child-centred activities.  Children also participate in intergenerational programming with the residents of Rideaucrest Home.

ADNS currently has an opening for a Toddler Assistant.  Although advantageous, an ECE diploma is NOT required for this position.  Candidates must have a clear CPIC (Vulnerable Sector) and current First Aid and CPR (Level C).  Experience with young children is also a requirement.

The Toddler Assistant provides support to the Toddler Teacher through: supervision of children, setting up of learning spaces, cleaning, tidying, moving equipment and helping with the daily routine at the school.

ADNS is also seeking candidates for our Casual Supply list, which includes both RECE and non-ECE openings.  A clear CPIC (Vulnerable Sector), current First Aid and CPR (Level C), and experience with young children are requirements for both RECE and non-ECE candidates.

Allen-Detweiler Nursery School is a play-based, cooperative nursery school that promotes experiential learning and social skills in an innovative program.  We are currently seeking a Preschool Assistant to work three-five mornings per week beginning in September.  Requirements for the position include a current First Aid/CPR Level C and CPIC/VSC.  Interested candidates are asked to email a resume and cover letter to Lois Andrews at director@adnschool.com .  Interviews for this position will be held the week of August 14.  While we thank all applicants for their interest, only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
